We fly from Cape Town via Dubai to Amsterdam.
We arrive in Amsterdam at 13:30. After going through passport control, we get our tour bus. This afternoon we will visit the fishing village of Volendam. You will also have the opportunity to visit the cheese and clogs factory. After dinner, we will go on a walking city tour of Amsterdam.
Today we visit the Van Gogh museum and the Rijksmuseum where you can see Rembrandt's Night Watch. After a morning filled with art, you are free to explore Amsterdam on your own this afternoon. Tonight, you can experience Amsterdam.
This year we are going to try something new. Modern life is influenced more by Germany than by France, and therefore we are going to Berlin. The city is largely modern and was rebuilt after the Second World War. In fact, to understand the modern world, you also need to understand Berlin. The landmarks of the Second World War, but also of the Cold War, are visible everywhere in Berlin, and we are going to visit all these highlights. We will even visit a concentration camp. On your second day, you are free to explore Berlin on your own. Since Berlin is a modern city, there is plenty of entertainment for teenagers in the evenings. You can rent a small scooter and easily get around with it.
We are driving to Füssen to visit Neuschwanstein Castle. With a population of less than 15,000 people, we can expect reasonable tranquility.
Our visit to Innsbruck is aimed at seeing and enjoying the beautiful Alps and the lakes among the Alps. Those who have never been to the Austrian Alps believe that Switzerland is the most beautiful in Europe, but Innsbruck is itself a particularly beautiful city and was also the home of the Winter Olympic Games in 1976. Although we cannot guarantee that you will be able to ski, we can guarantee that you will be able to play in the snow. It all depends on the summer temperatures, but even if there is not enough snow for skiing, there will still be snow. It is a picturesque environment and quite a bit cheaper and softer on your wallet than places like Lucerne in Switzerland.
Today we are going to the land of pizza and pasta. We travel over Euro bridges to Italy. Our campsite in Venice has always been a paradise for young people. In fact, it still is, although quality is now measured by the availability of Wi-Fi and no longer by the dance facilities. In Italy, we stay in cabins at campsites. We take a walking city tour of Venice. O sole mio - a romantic gondola ride is optional and hopelessly too expensive for the taste of this fossil. In the afternoon, you are free to explore all the alleyways and backstreets of Venice. When there is no wind, mosquitoes can be quite bothersome in Venice. Remember to take precautions.
Rome is an incomparable city with many sights and art that have established themselves over centuries. Our stay receives the highest points from most young people who go on the Jiptoer. There is a swimming pool and hangout spot, which has now also been replaced with the essential Wi-Fi. On this tour, you will have a lot of freedom, especially in places like Rome where you will experience it. However, it is essential that you also understand that there are limits. Those limits are clearly outlined in the application form, and we will definitely not allow them to be exceeded. Unfortunately, the hangout spot in Rome can also lead to clashes with the tour leaders. You will need to set your cell phones aside when we are speaking to you.
It's not far from Rome to Sorrento, and we will stop at Pompeii on the way. In the afternoon, we will first visit the ruins of Pompeii before departing for our accommodation in Sorrento. The boat trip to Capri is optional, but if you go there, there is a wide variety of activities you can participate in. You can explore the island on foot, by scooter, or by taxi. You can also rent a boat and sail around the island. This will give you the opportunity to swim and dive in the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The Blue Grotto of Capri is world-famous, and a visit to the grotto is always an experience, but it is often not possible due to the very long queues. We are staying an extra night in Sorrento this year to give everyone the opportunity to fully experience the Amalfi Coast.
Our last day in Europe has arrived. Farewell is being said to Rome and all of Europe. At 10:00 PM, we are flying to Dubai.
We arrive in Cape Town at 11:25. Tonight is the last night of the tour. You can arrange with your parents to drop you off somewhere so that you can party all night without any limitations or rules. What better way to say goodbye to your new friends.
